"Peter Minus Bjorn and John."

In addition to the wonderful, and surprising experience I had at the recent Peter Moren show at The Troubabdour, I have something I would like to share with all of you. It's a behind the scenes glance at Peter on tour where he discusses the pleasures and not so great times of touring, being homesick, and also an exclusive performance of "This is What I Came For." Check it out by clicking the link below!! P.S. Happy Birthday to me.....

Another P.S..... Stay tuned for my review of The National at the House Of Blues in San Diego this week. I will be there to witness yet another great performance by one of my favorite bands, which just had a full length track on Grey's Anatomy last week....

NEW GNARLS BARKLEY!

I love the latest Gnarls Barkley video for "Going On"! It's a beautiful video that was shot in Jamaica by Wendy Morgan. Gnarls Barkley is brilliant - they are always keeping their music innovative and fresh!

WALK THE LINE

Fans have been lined up along Sunset, in front of the Roxy since early this morning to catch a glimpse of Foxboro Hot Tubs. FHT is the band comprised of the members of Green Day who are performing garage music under this alias. Grab your sleeping bags, because you have one more chance to catch them tomorrow at Alex's Bar in Long Beach.

NEON LIGHTS

Speaking of Neon - have you seen those Old Navy commercials for "Neon Nights"? Well, here is the extended 3 minute version which features the song "The Last Thing on Your Mind" by Lights. Old Navy has featured a few of Lights' songs in their latest ads.

"Lights is a small girl who dwells in Toronto and makes music". She apparetnly has been around for years, but thanks to the Old Navy commercials is breaking in the US now!

SKYDIVER

I hope you all had a nice Memorial Day! I heard this song yesterday and I can't get it out of my head! It's called "Skydiver" and it's from Neon. It was released in the 80's. What a good song to help kick the summer off!

SHOW SPOTLIGHT - MATES OF STATE

If you are in the LA area this week, Mates of State is the show to catch! They will be performing this Wednesday at the Music Box in Hollywood. Their album RE-ARRANGE US is in stores now!

Mates of State is the organ and drums, vocal-laden duo of Kori Gardner and Jason Hammel. The band essentially began in 1997. After a few months in the midwest, they high-tailed it out to a new home in San Francisco. California greeted them with sunshine, pop sounds, and a great music community.

Their long-standing motto of "Play anywhere, anytime" allowed them to play everywhere from Oakland parties to venues up and down the west coast. Kori (organ, vox) and Jason (drums, vox) quit their day jobs as a teacher and cancer researcher in 2001, got married, and hit the road bringing their love to the rest of the world. They've toured the US, Europe and Japan and by the looks of it, won't stop any time soon.

HOMETOWN GLORY LIVE!

I've still coming off my Adele high from the other night and "Hometown Glory" has been on rotation non-stop. The song has also recently appeared on One Tree Hill and the season finale of Grey's Anatomy. Check out Adele singing a live version of "Hometown Glory"!
