WORKING ON THE RAILROAD
Local Natives were in the Windy City for the Pitchfork Music Festival a few weeks ago. They found time to do a little railroad acoustic session for Pitchfork TV and even caught a robbery in the process.

PEGGY SUE LIVE AT PIANOS
Check out live video of Peggy Sue performing "Yo Mama" at their June show at Pianos. It was shot by the super-talented peeps over at VVUSIC.

The band also created a little tour scrapbook on their site where fans can check out the videos they made in every city they played on their NA summer tour. They also included a little blog about each video. Toronto and Seattle are two of my favorites :)

COUNTDOWN TO ZERO
Beth Ditto PSA (7.20.10) from TakePart on Vimeo.
Beth Ditto is another musician that is coming forward to speak about nuclear weapons. Check out her PSA for COUNTDOWN TO ZERO.
COUNTDOWN TO ZERO traces the history of the atomic bomb from its origins to the present state of global affairs: nine nations possess nuclear weapons capabilities with others racing to join them, with the world held in a delicate balance that could be shattered by an act of terrorism, failed diplomacy, or a simple accident. Written and directed by acclaimed documentarian Lucy Walker (Devil’s Playground, Blindsight), the film features an array of important international statesmen, including Jimmy Carter, Mikhail Gorbachev, Pervez Musharraf and Tony Blair. Countdown to Zero makes a compelling case for worldwide nuclear disarmament, an issue more topical than ever with the Obama administration working to revive this goal today. The film was produced by Academy Award® winner and 2009 nominee Lawrence Bender (Inglourious Basterds, An Inconvenient Truth) and developed, financed and executive produced by Participant Media, together with World Security Institute.
Stay tuned for more details and additional clips!

Here We Go Magic is a five-piece band made up of members Luke Temple, Kristina Lieberson, Michael Bloch, Jennifer Turner, and Peter Hale. Several of them had collaborated consistently in years prior, but the five finally came together with a single unified vision in early 2009, buoyed by the release of the self-titled Here We Go Magic album (Western Vinyl).
The band's creative momentum since has been unwavering. Together they have developed a broad array of musical material and honed an explosive live sound all their own. They spent much of 2009 on successive North American and European tours with bands such Department of Eagles, Grizzly Bear, and the Walkmen, before retreating to a house near East Branch, NY to record their second full length LP.
Pigeons, out now on Secretly Canadian, was recorded to analog tape in the livingroom of a rented house in upstate New York. It represents a full-on collaborative work by a band with an uncanny musical chemistry. The album is produced by bassist Jen Turner and features thick full band arrangements by all members of Here We Go Magic. As they were immersed together in a very reactive and spontaneous creative process, most of the arrangements and textural treatments were born at the same moment as the songs themselves. Songwriter Luke Temple's evocative melodies and lyrics are thus complimented and fleshed out in completely organic ways. Taken as a whole, Pigeons is a unique and fascinating journey from start to finish, rooted in driving repetitive rhythms, swathed in a celestial haze, and maintaining a consistent and comfortable expressive breath throughout.
First and foremost a live band by nature, Here We Go Magic will be touring almost without stop through the remainder of 2010. They have been invited to play many of the world's leading festivals, including Glastonbury, Bonnaroo, Primavera Sound and Pitchfork Festival.

GOODBYE SUNSHINE...HELLO RAIN!
As some of you may already know, Musicbleep is leaving the bright lights of Hollywood and heading to the Pacific Northwest. MB has been going strong in Los Angeles for 3 AMAZING years now and have had soooo many amazing experiences in this city; we truly feel blessed to be able to call L.A. our home, but we are ready for change of scenery...something new & fresh. Musicbleep is so grateful for all of the opportunities and times that we have had, and will miss the people that we have met along the way.
Even though Seattle will be the new "home" of Muscbleep, we still plan on getting back to L.A. as much as possible. We have awesome staff that will still be covering shows in L.A., while we get to experience the music scene in Seattle. Us "Musicbleepers" can't wait to see where these new adventures takes us, and you, our followers and fans; we already have some cool things lined up in the next few months.
Please stay tuned for some upcoming show reviews and a few past ones (KT Tunstall) that are being worked on. This move has been taking a lot of time, so it's been a little slow on keeping up with the posts. Musicbleep will be back up and running strong in just a few days.
We look forward to introducing, you, our readers to this wonderful city and adding more friends and fans on the way.

AIR TO PLAY ONE EXCLUSIVE U.S. DATE
Following their sold-out North American tour last March to celebrate the release of their fifth studio album Love 2, AIR are proud to announce an exclusive one-off live date this Fall. The French electronic pop duo (Nicolas Godin and JB Dunckel) will play Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium on Saturday, October 23, 2010.
The March 2010 shows were the band’s first North American live dates in over three years. For the first time on these dates, the band performed their live show as an intimate three-piece with Godin and Dunckel taking on full instrumental and vocal duties. Tour highlights included a national TV appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, an unforgettable show at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and the recording of AIR’s sixth studio session for KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclecticprogram.
Also in March, AIR teamed up with London-based music technology company RjDj to create an innovative App, “Love by AIR” for the iPhone, which allows fans to experience Air’s music in a unique, immersive way. Fans choose from five different “soundscapes” and then use the App’s features to transform the musical experience in real-time by sampling and processing ambient sounds, the fan’s own voice and more into Air’s own music. Fans can also record their own messages or performances with the application, allowing them to share their own unique productions of Air’s music with their friends, and with the world. Upon release the App spent several weeks in the iTunes Top 20 Music Apps chart.

AIR’s 1998 debut album Moon Safari struck a unanimously harmonious chord with music lovers around the globe and has since become an electronic pop classic. Since then, AIR have enjoyed many career-defining moments including the now legendary sold-out show with full orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl in 2004. The bands has also garnered many accolades, both at home and abroad, and have written, produced and collaborated on a breathtaking array of music projects.
With 5.5 million worldwide album sales to their credit, the band has become de facto ambassadors of modern French pop, whose fans are drawn back to each new musical adventure by their inventive arrangements, and a playful yet unpredictable palette of sounds and songcraft.
"Ending the show with the languid opening track from “Moon Safari,” “La Femme d’Argent,” Air quickened the song's pulse, switching the emphasis from Dunckel’s jazz-dusted keyboard to Godin’s rumbling bass guitar. As the song swelled to a twisting, psychedelic conclusion complete with kaleidoscopic visuals, it was clear that Air wasn’t going to be held in place by its past, no matter how big the spotlight" - Los Angeles Times
"It's the cool of Yves Klein's "International Blue" and Jean Luc Godard's Breathless and Alain Robbe-Grillet's Djinn all rolled into an aural cone, and it elevates everyone within earshot" - SPIN.com
