SASQUATCH! MUSIC FESTIVAL SOLD OUT!!

The 2010 Sasquatch! Music Festival is now sold out, with the highest amount of tickets sold in the quickest time since the festival’s inception. Proudly featuring the recently reunited Pavement, Massive Attack, My Morning Jacket, Ween, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Kid Cudi, LCD Soundsystem, The National, Band of Horses and many others, the festival confirms its final lineup and stage schedule while adding comedian Aziz Ansari, They Might Be Giants and more. In anticipation of this year’s lineup AOL’s Spinner says, “It’s pretty much a dream lineup for indie kids...Maybe it’s time to start planning your summer kick-off.” Please see below for the complete festival lineup.

Sasquatch! returns to The Gorge in Quincy, WA May 29-31 (Memorial Day Weekend) following early sellouts and rave reviews the past several years. Festival tickets, which are nearly sold out already, are now available at sasquatchfestival.com and Ticketmaster.com. Known for its bucolic location as well as its programming zeitgeist, the Sasquatch! Festival marks its ninth year at The Gorge, a concert venue built in the Columbia River Gorge and offering spectacular views of the river canyon.

Festival creator Adam Zacks founded Sasquatch! in 2002 with the aim of constructing an event that catered to the eclectic tastes of voracious music enthusiasts. Zacks personally curates the lineups for each Sasquatch! Festival, hand-picking the diverse array of artists. “It’s our goal each year to present a fresh lineup that reflects the independent spirit of the Pacific Northwest, respects the artists and audience, and celebrates the grandeur of The Gorge.”

The Sasquatch! Festival has established a tradition of presenting critically acclaimed emerging artists alongside established headliners. Previous lineups have spanned a broad spectrum of genres from rock to hip-hop, electronic to singer-songwriters; past performers include R.E.M. Coldplay, Kanye West, Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails, Wilco, The Flaming Lips, The Cure, Björk, and M.I.A. The festival also has a history of incorporating comedy including performances by Flight of The Conchords, Zach Galifianakis, Sarah Silverman, and many more.

In the tradition of American Honda’s sustainability efforts at music festivals in 2009, Honda will be an official eco-partner for the 2010 Sasquatch! Music Festival. As an official eco-partner, Honda will present the festival’s solar-powered Honda Big Foot Solar Stage and the nearby Honda Hybrid Zone, displaying Honda’s hybrid vehicle fleet: the CR-Z sport hybrid coupe; Insight hybrid sedan; and the Civic hybrid sedan. In an effort to educate concertgoers on fundamentals of sustainability, the Honda Hybrid Zone will showcase Honda’s hybrid technology and other socially and eco-responsible initiatives. Additionally, carbon offsets for the majority of the greenhouse gas emissions created by the Sasquatch! Music Festival will be provided by Honda through Carbon Harmony.

Continued greening initiatives with Esurance, the title sponsor of the 2010 festival, are also included on this year’s agenda. For the past three years, the direct-to-consumer auto insurance provider has teamed up with Sasquatch to promote a greener festival. By increasing sustainable practices at the Gorge, including an expanded recycling program, eco-friendly signage, and energy-efficient lighting, they were able to reduce the overall carbon footprint at the venue compared to previous years. And this year, Esurance continues its drive toward a planet-friendly festival by offering concert-goers carpooling options. Attendees who sign up to give a ride or get a ride through the Esurance Road Trip website have a shot at winning cool prizes. Find out more at http://www.esurance.com/roadtrip.

WORLD PREMIERE VIDEO - THE TEMPER TRAP

Aussie rockers The Temper Trap have returned from a very successful stint at SXSW, and are celebrating it with a brand-new, destruction-laden US video for “Sweet Disposition.” Taking a page out of The Who’s playbook, the guys unleash their frustrations on each instrument in their arsenal.

The video is followed by special behind-the-scenes footage, featuring each band member’s preparation for their demolition tactics. Bass player Jonny Aherne took perhaps the most daunting approach, sustaining a minor head injury while filming his portion!

Check out the video, including all the behind the scenes footage, here: http://www.vevo.com/watch/playlist/sweet-disposition/107417#0

Plus, check out my interview with Dougie from a few weeks back!
