SUN KIL MOON-TONIGHT! EL REY THEATER, HOLLYWOOD

Tonight at the El Rey, Red House Painter's front-man, Mark Kozelek, will be performing with his latest (and I mean, in the past 6-7 years) project 'Sun Kil Moon'. His dark, dreary and honest voice definitely set quite the mood. Come and check them out tonight! www.myspace.com/sunkilmoon

THE HAZARDS OF LOVE

Last Tuesday at the newly renovated Hollywood Palladium, the Decemberists demonstrated an amazing variety of extreme talent. Portland based extraordinaries: Colin Meloy, Chris Funk, Jenny Conlee,Nate Querey, and John Moen plus special guests Becky Stark of 'Lavender Diamond' and Shara Worden of 'My Brightest Diamond' completely rocked the stage playing one continuous, non-stop live version of their latest album 'The Hazards of Love'.

It was no surprise to me that the Decemberists was going to be an amazing show, but I was not expecting the experience they gave me that evening. From the very beginning with 'Hazards of Love 1 (The Prettiest Whistles Won't Wrestle in the Thistles Undone' all the way through to 'The Hazards of Love 4 (The Drowned), they not once stopped playing an instrument, transitioning from one song to the next, without a glitch. It was breathtaking and glorious.

If you have yet to have a listen to "The Hazards of Love' do so on iTunes. It has to be one of the best conceptual albums in the past ten years, and is a definite treat!

Take a peek at one of the highlights of the show below:

PLAY NBA 2K9 WITH MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA

The indie band Manchester Orchestra, hot off the release of their second full-length album and an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman, will play NBA 2K9 with Xbox LIVE® Gold Members May 28.

If you're an Xbox LIVE Gold Member (if not, upgrade now! http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/goldBenefits.htm), and you want a chance to play with Manchester Orchestra, send a friend request to the Gamertag "
Manchester GWF" and be online half an hour before (1:30 p.m. EST) the Game with Fame session starts on Thursday, May 28, 2:00 p.m. EST.

Manchester Orchestra formed as a reaction to the stifling atmosphere of suburban Atlanta, Georgia, and the band has been recording since 2005. Their first album has never been released to the public, but their widely available scorcher,
I'm Like A Virgin Losing A Child, received widespread critical acclaim. After releasing four EPs, their latest full-length, Mean Everything To Nothing, hit the charts with a vengeance with its hot single "I've Got Friends" that they recently performed on the Late Show with David Letterman. Sports gamers may also know of them as their single "Wolves At Night" from the first album appeared in EA SPORTS' NHL® 08.

If you want a taste of the sound of Manchester Orchestra, there are two music videos available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace:
