SHOW SPOTLIGHT

Tomorrow night at The Greek in Los Angeles, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals hit the stage!

'Grace Potter and the Nocturnals are a Vermont-based band that has recently gained national attention with their newest album, This Is Somewhere. The band blends funky blues, soul and rock from the sixties and early seventies'.

You definitely need to check them out if you are in the Los Angeles area tomorrow or at least listen to this song "Apologies". I have been obsessed with this song ever since I heard it the other day.

SOLID GOLD

YOUR HILLS PICK OF THE WEEK COMES FROM A LADY OUT OF BROOKLYN!!

Santogold (born Santi White) has come along way from her days as an A&R representative for Epic Records. She left Epic to do some writing and producing on a few projects, which included her gig as lead singer for the band Stiffed. Santi was later offered a solo contract and began work on her own project. Working with fellow Stiffed member John Hill as co-producer, she recorded her debut album, Santogold, which was originally slated for release in January 2008, but was pushed back to April 2008.

Peter Moren. 'Did he really call my name?'

Front man Peter Moren, from Peter, Bjorn and John put on a stellar performance at The Troubadour in West Hollywood Saturday night! I came a bit early to catch a glimpse of the opening act, Tobias Froberg, who was amazing. Peter has just recently been working on several projects, one being his own album which dropped April 8th and also just finished producing Lykke Li, and new Swedish sensation whom will be performing at The El Rey on May 19th with El Perro del Mar. Peter's act was a bit crazier than one of P,B & J's, but in a good way. He went from performing solo, to a band set, to scaling the walls of the Troubadour. It was definitely a show worth being at. In the middle of the set, he asked if I, yes me, was in the crowd. Confused, I shyly shouted 'Uh yeah', and he demanded me to sit on stage while performing a song dedicated to me, don't ask me why. He thanked me, and I went back to my standing position in the crowd, with an un-named celebrity that I had met earlier (also the photographer of the photos I am in). Toward the end of the set, he asked if I was still there and suggested I approach the stage once more for him to come down as he performed a cover of A-ha's 'Take On Me', in which he insisted that I danced with him (see last photo). Crazy. He was a fun guy, a great performer, and it made for a very interesting evening.

VIVA!! CINCO DE MAYO

I hope everyone is out enjoying tons of margaritas, chips, salsa and more tacos then you can handle today! While you're out boozing it up, listen to this PHAT track by Estelle featuring Kanye West. Now, I am not always the biggest Kanye fan, however, I do really like him on this track! Don't get me wrong, I think Kanye is SUPER talented, but he just doesn't do it for me in other areas. Anyway, I'm not mad at K - I'll just shoot another shot of Tequila! On the other hand, Estelle is OFF THE CHAIN - think I'm in love! Check out "American Boy" by Estelle featuring Kanye West.
