VIVA LA VIDA!!

So the LONG awaited album from Coldplay is about to be released! June 17th, to be exact. However, if you go to IHEARTMUSIC.COM, you can listen to it, not download, but listen to it and check it out! Their tour; however, that was supposed to start on June 29th, has been postponed. The following statement is directly from their website:

"We're very sorry, but unfortunately Coldplay have had to move the dates of some of the previously-announced US shows. The band have experienced some production delays which mean that the show simply won't be ready for June 29. It's very frustrating but they promise you a show worthy of your patience and understanding when they start in mid-July. All tickets remain valid, but refunds will be available from the point of purchase if you're unable to make it to the new date. Click here to view the full revised routing." I do not doubt that it will be worth the wait, because I have seen them before, and I have to say the put on one hell of a show! I have listened to the new album and it is different, but amazing, still Coldplay! VIVA LA VIDA!!

Many great artists dropped new tunes this week. N.E.R.D., Nelly, Alanis, My Morning Jacket, The Fratellis, surprisingly MENUDO! But the best of them all....Martha Wainwright (sister of Rufus) released her third album 'I Know You're Married But I Have Feelings Too'. And I have to say, being a huge fan, is one of her best! It's hard to compare to her second self titled album, but it's up to par with that. She is performing next Thursday at The Troubador in West Hollywood, and I highly recommend going. Not only does she put on an amazing performance, but she is so personal, and genuine. I had the pleasure of spending time with her in San Francisco when she opened for The Swell Season. You would have no idea that she comes from the family she does. She is a musical and lyrical genius, that sends shivers down your spine.

Island Records' Artist Kerli's highly-anticipated debut album, LOVE IS DEAD, has been pushed up to a JULY 8TH release date. Working with noted producer/mixer/songwriter David Maurice, whose credits include Garbage and JC Chasez, Kerli wrote the personal lyrics to all the songs, reflecting her amazing odyssey from a small town in Estonia across the sea, from Scandinavia to major label recording artist.

GET TO KNOW...

It's Monday and I'm a bit sleepy from the weekend. The weekends just NEVER seem to be long enough anymore. Can't I just have one more day to recover...?

Anyhoo...enough of that! Now it's time to get to know this fresh talent from Toronto, Canada. He's about to explode on the music scene and his soulful voice is being compared to the likes of Ray Lamontagne and Marc Broussard. His name is Justin Nozuka and he is a 19 year old singer/songwriter. Though he may be young, his voice is as strong and perfected as someone who has been singing for years.

His debut album Holly is in stores now and his single for "After Tonight" has been getting tons of attention. Holly is named after his mother who helped and supported his chosen career in music. She also funded the album when he decided not to sign with a major record label and become his own individual artist.

In February 2008, Nozuka was nominated for a Juno award in the category of "New Artist of the Year". Last week his video for "After Tonight" was added to TRL and VH1. Justin is on tour now and hits Los Angeles on June 20th.
