ABSOLUTES-LY BARCELONA

You would think that by name, this group would hail from, well, Barcelona, but you and myself are wrong. The Seattle, Washington trio just released their 3rd album since 2000! This vocally emo-rock album proves to us that they still have it, and are now ready to share. You can validate this by checking out their video of their first single 'It's About Time'. They will be headlining, one of my favorite local spots, the Troubadour in West Hollywood May 7th, just a few shows from kicking off their US tour which starts in Texas. So take a break from what you are doing, whether it's work or play, and check them out: www.myspace.com/barcelona

LIKE A HEARTATTACK!!

Last Thursday, my boys hit the Troubadour to finish off their last show of their current tour. LVD has been keeping busy since the release of their debut album back in like Spring. Once again, Low vs. Diamond didn't disappoint. Playing their entire album for a packed house, which is always a treat for the fans. I love seeing bands at the Troubadour, because it's so intimate. You can be right up on em...it's great!

I got to the Troub a bit early so I could check out one of the opening bands, Barcelona. Barcelona kicked it off, and I must say the lead singer had a really great voice. It almost sounded a bit like Coldplay at times, which of course I love. Think Coldplay meets Snow Patrol with a little bit of Band of Horses. Great band, and I definitely will check them out again if ever in L.A.

Seriously, it was a great night! This was probably like the 8th time seeing LVD, and it never gets old! I heart this band and it's so great to see them so successful!
