Midnight Juggernauts are playing tomorrow night at Vanguard in Hollywood for a Scion/Vice House party. Join me at this super cool event and see this amazing band perform live. It's gonna be off the hook!

Vanguard

LA, CA 90028

Time: 8PM

Also, New Yorkers will now have the chance to see Australia’s Midnight Juggernauts during their fall visit to the U.S. before the band hibernates to begin work on their second album. In addition to four previously announced U.S. shows, the Midnight Juggernauts will play NYC’s Le Poisson Rouge on September 13th (full schedule below). The band has spent the last year touring the globe in support of their debut Dystopia, which included a U.S. tour with Justice, a triumphant Coachella performance and countless festival performances including Primavera, Glastonbury and Fuji Rock, just to mention a few.

TOKYO POLICE CLUB'S INTERFACE SESSION

Tokyo Police Club recently stopped by AOL/Spinner's Los Angeles studio to record an Interface session. Although they were all there, this session features frontman Dave Monks solo. The three songs from Elephant Shell and one from their A Lesson In Crime EP are stripped down to just acoustic guitar and vocals, exposing the songs in a whole new light. In the interview Dave discusses playing large festivals, being in a band with three of his best friends, and the origin of their band name.

Interface track listing:
1. Tessellate
2. The Harrowing Adventures Of...
3. Centennial
4. The Nature Of The Experiment

NOEL GALLAGHER ATTACKED

Oasis guitarist was attacked by a fan (or not a fan) on stage at the Virgin Festival in Toronto. The band took a short break before returning to finish their set.

CARRIED TO DUST...

...is the name of Calexico's 16th album. Yes 16th!! This Tucson, Arizona group of gents fuse together so many different sounds from country, folk, indie, emo, to good ol' rock 'n roll. I had the pleasure of listening to their new album, and have to say that it doesn't skip a beat. Being a fan, they still have 'their' sound, but this album takes them to a whole other level. Try track 3, 'The News About William', which is a favorite of mine, thus far. Carried to Dust will be released TOMORROW, so run out and grab a copy or download it on your iTunes.

SOUNDTRACK OF THE HILLS - VMA STYLE

Another VMA here and gone.... It was just ok - nothing special to really report on. I mean, why was it on a soundstage? It was sooo small and super cheese! I know they are probably trying to keep things new and fresh, however, I feel like they fall flat every time. I dunno...maybe its a financial thing. Putting it on at Paramount probably was a hell of a lot cheaper than some other non Viacom (MTV is in Viacom family) related location. We have fallen on hard times and I'm sure they would rather spend their millions paying the cast of The Hills. Whateves...keeping them around is fine by me, cuz it give me much pleasure to see other peoples drama, and of course I get to talk about the music they feature each week.

This week is a special week, cuz we gotta extra special Hills episode after the Video Music Awards. Here is the music that was featured last night. And stay tuned for another episode of The Hills tonight!
