I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving and have gotten over your food coma. I like Thanksgiving, but I always eat so damn much and feel nasty after. It's only once a year, so I feel a little bit better about eating & eating all day long.

Katy Perry perfomed 'Hot N Cold' on the first anual Youtube Awards. Get up and dance and work off some of that turkey!

Off to holiday shop - WOOT WOOT!

Have you seen those annoying promos on NBC with stars doing the "BUM, BUM, BUM" or the "Chime In" as NBC is calling it? Well, they can be quite silly, but now maybe with some much needed coolness by some musical talent it won't be as cheesy.

The B-52s have lent their sound to NBC network's ongoing CHIME IN campaign. The World’s Greatest Party Band has recorded its own version of NBC's infamous chimes, which will air in promo form during the network’s primetime lineup. The promo will feature the band shaking and shimmying to the reworked tune in their own distinctive style.

The B-52s are in good company- other super-stars involved in the campaign include B.B. King, Clint Black, Richie Sambora, The Airborne Toxic Event, The Flaming Lips and T.I. All of the musicians will autograph the chimes with their own personal style -- from B.B. King playing guitar, to T.I. rapping, to The B-52s grooving to a dance beat -- the promos will excite, entertain and inform viewers.

The G-E-C notes have been an audio icon for NBC over the past 75 years, since the days when it was only a radio signal. Throughout the years, the chimes have been used by stars, from Jerry Seinfeld to Bill Cosby, but never before in such an all-encompassing campaign. In January 2008, the chimes were added to all promos and the overall effort took on the name CHIME IN -- gaining worldwide exposure throughout NBC’s Olympic coverage. NBC stars have championed the CHIME IN mantra and added their own personality and style like never before. From Masi Oka and Greg Grunberg beat-boxing to Jenna Fischer singing, talent are chiming in. They are now the voice of the network, introducing programming line-ups, sharing what is coming up next and putting their own signature on the chimes. The willingness of today’s hottest musical talent to embrace the chimes and infuse them with their own signature style illustrates the reach and impact of the three musical notes. Their star-power takes this branding campaign to a new level of excitement. Additionally, as the campaign continues to grow, the network looks forward to potential advertiser tie-ins or involvement -- giving advertisers a chance to CHIME IN.

The B-52s are currently on tour supporting their latest album Funplex. Recorded in their native Athens and released earlier this year, Funplex saw the band return to excellent reviews after a 16 year hiatus and once again deliver a collection of classic B-52s material. With its primal guitar hooks, driving drums and The B-52s unmistakable vocal style, Funplex is instantly recognizable as quintessential and contemporary B-52s.

The band recently released the “Juliet of the Spirits” Remix EP which features remixes from some of world’s most sought-after electronic producers - Zoned Out, Dan McKie, Glenn Morrison & Bruce Aisher, and Morgan Page

Starting December 1, KCRW DJ Garth Trinidad returns to weeknights, hosting a music show from 8 to 10pm PST, the slot previously occupied by new Music Director and Host of Morning Becomes Eclectic Jason Bentley.

Garth has been on the air at KCRW since 1996 and hosted a weeknight show, formerly known as “Chocolate City.” His exploration into urban rhythms and soul created a new home for a demographic that wasn’t served anywhere else and he was the first DJ in the country to play both Macy Gray and Jill Scott.

“When I first got the news, I was ecstatic. Jason was a huge inspiration for me to become a DJ and I wouldn’t be at KCRW if it was not for him,” said KCRW DJ Garth Trinidad.

“When I opted out of being on air five nights a week, my wife and I were starting our family. As soon as I stopped, I really missed it, much to my surprise. The dynamic shifted and I missed the ability to break records because I couldn’t play them as often.”

“Here it is, almost five years later, and my kids are a little bigger, and now I have the opportunity to carry the evening torch again. I can’t wait to use this daily time slot to spread my wings as a programmer and sink my teeth into music in a way I never have,” said Trinidad.

“Garth is a confident voice, on KCRW and in the Los Angeles community, and I look forward to his return to the weeknight line up. He has tremendous untapped potential and, with a broader platform, he will have the opportunity to transcend the more specialized mode of his current show. His sincere appreciation of the history of music – where it’s been and where it’s going -- will be exciting to hear,” said Bentley.

KCRW DJ Jason Eldredge will replace Garth Trinidad on Saturday nights from 6 to 9pm. On Sunday nights, Nic Harcourt will replace a taped version of “Sounds Eclectic” with his new live music show from 6 to 9pm.

Adele was in town early last week to do some promo for her current hit record 19. Not only did she grace the world with her talents on SNL & The Tonight Show, she also found time to do a set on KCRW's Mornings Become Eclectic.

You must watch this!! The 2nd song she sings is my FAVE!! Adel will be in LA in January and Esi and myself will be hitting up that show for sure!

We actually saw her at the Roxy this past summer and she was absolutely amazing! She has such a powerful voice and is right up there with the greats like Etta James, which so happens to be one of her influences growing up. Maybe Adele should have played Etta instead of Beyonce in the upcoming movie. Link

As many of you know The Sounds are one of my favorite bands out of Sweden. At least once a year this band makes a stop off in L.A. which now seems to be a traditional thing for them. Well, this past Thursday they hit the newly renovated Hollywood Palladium to play for a packed house of adoring D-BAGS or FANS you could call em. I say this cuz every single time I attend their show, it's like people don't know how to act. I mean, I know it's a show and it's exciting and you jump around, etc... I just happen to ALWAYS be standing next to some freak shows that must bump me or try and mosh or kiss their significant other like some annoying teenage kids. I mean seriously, must your drunk ass stumble upon me like I'm some freaking bar stool.'s The Sounds! I'm totally not going to let this put a damper on my night.

I finally decided to move off to the side to get as far away from the screaming kids as I could. At that point, I met the kindest person ever, who just so happened to be a photographer taking photos for OUT MAGAZINE. Normally, I have my photographer, Cory with me at all shows, but he was out of town this night. I know I needed photos, cuz Cory was gone and I didn't bring my crappy point & shoot, so I asked Megan (the Photographer) if she was willing to let me use some of her photos from the night. Thanks to her I was able to get some really great photos of the night! Also, that night I finally was able to meet Anne from Big Hassle. Big Hassle is the company that does PR for many many amazing bands, including The Sounds. She was the sweetest thing was finally nice to put a face with the name.

All in all it was a fantastic night! An even extra special night, because the band gave us a sample of what's to come from their upcoming record. Let me just say that we are in for a treat! If you missed this show, not to worry...the band announced they will be back in 2009!

Again, thanks to Megan Westerby for the amazing photos, and a big shout out to Anne from Big Hassle! Also, big ups to The Sounds for a FN AWESOME show!
