If you did not get the chance to see the UK's Duke Spirit at the Roxy last Friday, YOU MISSED OUT!!! They put on a STELLAR, STELLAR, STELLAR show!! Performing songs from their debut album Neptune, they definitely went off without a hitch! Their energy, and sound truly proves their passion for what they do! Front lady, Liela Moss, is AMAZING! I knew I was going in for an amazing evening, but they blew me away! Seeing a shorter show at Ameoba Records a few months back, I was thrilled to see that they were headlining, and what a better venue than the Roxy on Sunset! They performed 'Neptune's Call', 'This Ship Was Built to Last', 'Wooden Heart', and their first hit 'Step and the Walk'. I was elated throughout the whole show. Check out the photos and the video! Also, make sure you check them out on iTunes, and GET THEIR ALBUM, you will NOT be disappointed!!

Looking for your big music video directorial debut but are not quite sure where to start? Look no further. In collaboration with Apple and Blender.com, The Duke Spirit are laying out their green screen elements on the digital table for you to grab and manipulate to make the winning music video for their hit "The Step and the Walk." The band will judge the entries and choose the eventual winner.

These are some of the wonderful things awaiting the Grand Prize Winner:- have their video added to the iTunes digital release for The Duke Spirit album Neptune as a download gift with purchase and receive a Director credit- have their video shown at shows before the band goes on stage- a copy of Final Cut Studio 2.

THE DUKE SPIRIT LIVE

Last night we had the honor of witnessing UK's newest sensation, The Duke Spirit. If you are not familiar, check them out on myspace or look them up on recent posts on Musicbleep, or youtube their performance on the Tonight Show. They took control of the stage and really busted it out!

The Duke Spirit was on The Late Show with Conan O'Brien the other night. Here they are singing "The Step and The Walk", off their album NEPTUNE. TDS hit Los Angeles this Sunday with their one night appearance at the Troubadour!

HILLS PICK OF THE WEEK!

I have been meaning to showcase this band for awhile... Well, it just so happens that this band was featured Monday night during The Hills and I have been hearing lots of buzz about them.

My Hills pick for the week comes from a band out of the UK called The Duke Spirit. The Duke Spirit consists of Liela Moss, Luke B Ford, Dan Higgins, Toby Butler & Olly The Kid Betts. Their sound is like early grunge bands of the late '80s and early '90s such as the Pixies and Sonic Youth.

The Duke Spirit has found success in touring and much of their success has come from word of mouth. Their album Neptune is in stores everywhere and they are on tour now to support. The Duke Spirits hits Los Angeles on May 10th!
