"But I couldn't help but fall in love again.." She & Him

Finally! A collaboration that excites me! The infamous living guitar legend M. Ward and the every lovely and witty, Zooey Deschanel have come together to create one of the best albums that has dropped in the last few years. Between M. Wards' amazing talent, and the intoxicating and timeless vocals from Deschanel, Vol. 1, is a must have for any collection, no matter what your tastes are. Visit their website www.sheandhim.com and give them a listen, it is definitely worth your while.

THAT'S NOT MY NAME

TGIFF - we made it through another week!! I'm about ready to leave town for some much deserved rest, but before I go I wanted to share this song/band with you.

The name of the band is The Ting Tings. They are an English indie/electronic band, consisting of Jules De Martino and Katie White. Katie looks a bit like Kylie Minogue and sounds like a better version of Avril Lavigne

I love what I am hearing from these two and I really love their song 'That's Not My Name'. They are gonna be huge, so I want you to listen to them all weekend long! They hit Los Angeles on June 13 & 14th!!

THE HILLS PICK OF THE WEEK

Their music has been featured in like 3 episodes of the Hills and last night it was the pick of the week. Their music has been showcased on a few other shows besides The Hills, and this past weekend I heard their song on Indie 103.

Born in Charleston S.C, Chad Wolfe eventually made his way to Los Angeles in an attempt to launch a career in music. Chad landed an internship with songwriter Diane Warren and later turned a gig watching a house into a relationship with Swedish pop production genius Max Martin.

He used all of the advice Warren offered and the singer/guitarist honed his songwriting in Stockholm. It was there that he pulled together Jim Almgren Gandara, Rickard Gransson, Johan Carlsson, Erik Haager and Max Grahn to form Carolina Liar.

Carolina Liar's debut album Coming To Terms drops May 2oth!

BREAKING NEWS! Is it going to be a WHITE wedding?

Not only is her new record about to drop, so is a baby! Looks like there is more to it than just a wedding. A shotgun wedding perhaps? It seems as if it is true, our adorable Ashlee Simpson is going to be a mommy. I received word this morning that, in fact, Ashlee is pregnant with fiance Pete Wentz's child. I'm sure it's going to be a cute little thing, and I'm sure Papa Joe is just proud as punch!

UPDATE: A statement from Pete denying the rumors. "This is all news to me," he told MTV. "I can't wait for the story about how I'm really in a gay relationship and this is all just a cover ... this is crazy."

CHECKING OUT...

Well, the weekend has once again come and gone.... It was such a great weekend to be in Los Angeles!! It was seriously like 90 degrees in the city and just absolutely beautiful!

Mondays are always so hard for me to get going, but I'll make it through the day if it continues to stay hot. I'm so over the cold weather and these past few hot days, along with the warm nights have really got me yearning for the summer months to come.

I know I couldn't stop talking about the Hotel Cafe Tour this past week, so I hope I wasn't too annoying with the nonstop posts. After experiencing the show for myself, I think I'm even more obsessed...lol! I just was so impressed by this show and these artists that I want everyone to take a piece of this show with you.

So, I'm done talking about it for now and I'll leave you with the last few pix and some songs from the artists that played this past weekend. I will have some new music that I'm super stoked about posted throughout the week

HAPPY MONDAY!!

WELCOME TO THE HOTEL CAFE TOUR...

WOW...I don't even know where to begin! First, Ill start off by saying this was one of the best shows I have seen in awhile. There were so many freaking talented artists and amazing moments that happened throughout this 3 hour long extravaganza. I was just thinking to myself how lucky I was to be able to experience something like this. I mean, I have been to the Hotel Cafe thousands of times and I have seen many of these artists perfect their skills before me in a more intimate setting, but there was something different about last night. To be able to see these performers go from the actual Hotel Cafe on Cahuenga to a SOLD OUT Fonda Theater, was really special and something I'll never forget. I'm sorry if I'm getting all cheesy, but I felt like a proud parent. At one point of the night the entire lineup came out on stage and sang 'Blue Eyes' with Cary Brothers. It was like reliving your high school graduation all over again - kind of emotional! LOL! Anyway, I really wanted to have great pictures to share, but the camera I usually use wasn't available last night, so I had to use my crappy little point and shoot. I apologize for the crap pix!

GREG LASWELL & Priscilla Ahn

Highlights for me from last night would have to be when Meiko sang her version of 'Scrubs' by TLC, Ingrid Michaelson singing while some guy in the audience played his harmonica. Ingrid was also quite funny during her time on stage - I really enjoyed everything about her! Also, when Jim Bianco, Jesca Hoop, Cary Brothers and a few others came out to the audience and had a sing-a-long with all of us. All in all this show was incredible and packed full of memorable moments. The Hotel Cafe Tour kicked off its 2 night stint in Los Angeles bringing an array of talent home to LA where it all began. Last US stop is tonight's SOLD OUT show at the El Rey.
