She & Him did a little live gig at Morning Becomes Eclectic. Unfortch, they don't have it up to watch, but you can listen. They also playes a SOLD OUT show last night in LA, promoting their new record, SHE AND HIM VOLUME 2.

CHRISTMAS HAS COME EARLY

The two members of superstar indie pop duo She & Him are busy, busy folks. M. Ward released two albums in 2009, as a solo artist and as a member of Monsters of Folk. And Zooey Deschanel is a bona fide movie star, which is the sort of thing that tends to dominate one's schedule. In September, she also got married to Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard.

All of which is to say that we didn't expect a follow-up to Volume One, She & Him's extra-twee 2008 debut, anytime soon. But it looks like we're getting one.

In an interview with MTV News, Deschanel revealed that She & Him have already completed their sophomore album and that they'll release it early next year: "I have a new [She & Him] record coming out in the spring. It's official. It's done and being released in the spring. And we're going to go on tour."

500 DAYS OF ZOOEY AND JOSEPH

Marc Webb, director of (500) Days of Summer, created a new music video for She & Him's "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?", featuring Zooey and (500) Days of Summer co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt..

It's so cute...just like the movie! If you haven't seen the movie yet...GO THIS WEEKEND! It's one of my favorite movies this year.

BECAUSE I LOVE HER..

A ton of holiday movies were playing over the Thanksgiving weekend. Elf, which is one of my faves played like 3 times, and it reminded me how much I love when Zooey sings.

I am so glad she is in a band! This is the video for 'Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?'. I have posted this video before, but I love her band so much I'm doing it again.

We need to see more from She And Him!!!

Ok, so I never thought I'd say this, but I'm am sooo glad it's Monday!  DID I JUST SAY THAT?  I think my new age has already gone to my head. I am so FN exhausted from all of my birthday events that began last Thursday.  Only in LA does one day turn in to a 4 day celebration.  No complaints here, I'm just tired and need another 4 days to recoup. Anyway, thanks so much to everyone that was involved!  This was truly one of the most amazing Birthdays I have ever had and it's all because of the great people that are in my life.  

Ok moving on... She & Him just premiered their brand new video for "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here"!  Zooey is so adorable!  I really hope her music career takes off, cuz she is one Actress/Singer that actually has some talent.  

THEY PUT A SPELL ON US...

I would like to start out this blog by thanking the wonderful individual at Merge Records for giving us the opportunity to review last nights performance of She & Him, the amazing collaborative effort of M. Ward and the intoxicating Zooey Deschanel. The performance took place in the historical 80 year old Vista movie theater in Silverlake, which made for a very intimate event. Lavendar Diamond opened, and did a few special songs with Deschanel, which was a real treat. The lights came on, then down, the band came out, and even with expectation (as M. Ward is a musical genius, and Zooey is just, well, adorable Zooey), they blew our minds. Her powerful, effortless voice filled the theater that I'm sure showered the audience with chills. She would do cute little dances, play her tambourine, and shyly speak to the crowd. One of her friends, actor/musician Jason Schwartzman was kind enough to show up and play a few tunes on the piano and then M. Wards guitar. It was truly a special night, that I felt honored to be a part of. Their album She & Him Vol. 1 is out and i HIGHLY recommend getting your hot hands on it as it is definitely a classic already.

She and Him performed with Yo La Tengo on Late Night with Conan O'Brien the other night. Zooey is too cute - I'm so excited she has decided to put her amazing vocals to use!! She & Him are in LA on Monday & Tuesday playing 2 SOLD OUT shows at the Vista Theatre. I am doing my hardest to get into one of the nights - keep you posted!
