IN CASE YOU MISSED IT...

M.I.A. was on Letterman the other night performing "Born Free" off her latest album. Always keepin' things fresh, M.I.A. incorporated a group of dancers that looked exactly like her. Not sure about the song, but I liked what she did with the performance.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT...

Dear Tick made their television debut on the Late Show with David Letterman last night. Their third album, The Black Dirt Sessions, was just released last Tuesday and reached the #1 sales ranking on Amazon.

Recorded late last year at Black Dirt Studios in upstate New York, The Black Dirt Sessions is a deeply personal record from Deer Tick and most especially from lead vocalist and songwriter John McCauley. It is the sound of a band coming into its own, finding its voice and pouring its collective heart out. The comparisons that have often been thrust upon McCauley by the press seem to fall away as his own voice comes through more clearly. On songs like "Goodbye, Dear Friend" and "Christ Jesus" which find McCauley alone at the piano, about as naked as you can possibly get on record. The Black Dirt version of "Christ Jesus," which also appeared on War Elephant, manages to be even more devastating than the original.

LOW VS DIAMOND WEEK

In celebration of their release party this Wednesday at the Troubadour, I have decided to make this LVD week. I have been rooting for LVD for quite some time now, and nothing make me more proud than to see this band become so successful! I have seen them a number of times, and I'll be rooting em on again Wednesday.

If you are in the L.A. area this is a MUST SEE! Tickets are like $10 and definitely worth every cent. BUY YOUR TICKETS HERE!

Since I saw them last at the El Rey, the boys have been doing big things. They just wrapped up their stop at the Pemberton Festival, had their first network television debut on Letterman and are hitting the road with Carolina Liar.

Here is their performance from The Late Show with David Letterman.
