"WE'RE ON TOUR!!!"

My favorite band has announced they are going back on tour!! And to make it even better, they are hitting the road with No Doubt!!! WTF? This is going to be an insane show!! Read the following message posted to their Myspace page.

WE'RE ON TOUR!!! We are on our way to Hamburg Germany for the first date of our tour. We hope you can come out and see us as we'll be playing songs from our new album Crossing The Rubicon...but make sure you get tickets soon as many dates have sold out and a lot of others are very close to it. We've just put up on myspace a bunch more of our headline dates in the USA and Canada as well before and during the No Doubt tour. There will be more adding over the next few days as well.

By the way, NO DOUBT TICKETS ARE ON SALE TOMORROW. If you want to come to one of these shows, please get tickets quickly as they wont last for long. You can go to www.livenation.com and look for No Doubt. The dates we are on are listed on our myspace as well.

We know you've been waiting patiently, and next week we've been told we will be able to put up No One Sleeps When I'm Awake from the new album on our myspace so you can all hear it!...We can't wait for you to all finally hear what we've been working on for the last year.

We're excited to be able to see you all again on the road. See you there!

GOSSIP IN THE GRAIN

I am so excited to announce that one of my favorite male singer/songwriters is back with a new album and an upcoming tour!

He has truly one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard, and he is even better live. YOU MUST GET A TICKET WHEN HE COMES TO A CITY NEAR YOU!

Ray's new album, GOSSIP IN THE GRAIN drops on October 14th.

PURCHASE TICKETS HERE!

RAY LAMONTAGNE TO RELEASE THIRD ALBUM,
'GOSSIP IN THE GRAIN' ON October 14th

Lauded singer/songwriter, Ray LaMontagne is set to release his much-anticipated third album, Gossip In The Grain, on October 14th on RCA Records. Recorded with returning producer, Ethan Johns in Box, England, and touching upon a range of styles and musical settings- spanning pastoral folk, railroad blues, front porch country, and plangent balladry - Gossip In The Grain proves to be his most creative and emotionally expansive collection to date.

Whereas LaMontagne's two previous albums, 'Trouble' and 'Till The Sun Turns Black', were largely solo affairs, with Johns serving as multi-tasking instrumentalist, Gossip In The Grain sees him joined by members of his touring band, bassist Jennifer Condos and guitarist Eric Heywood (with Johns largely handling drum duties). Along with his band members, LaMontagne is also joined on two tracks - "A Falling Through" and "I Still Care For You" - by singer/songwriter Leona Naess.

As LaMontagne explains "It was time to open up a little bit more, not be quite so reserved in my choice of songs that I wanted to record. I'm really very critical of myself and it's sort of a process of opening up. I felt like I was in the right space to show that side of myself." Recently called by Vanity Fair "a fresh reminder that the genuine artist is not yet an extinct species," Gossip In The Grain reconfirms Ray LaMontagne as an artist and a craftsman without limits, a songwriter who is able to work his melodic gifts and distinctive lyricism through any of the myriad musical traditions that catches his fancy.

LIGHTS IN THE SKY

NIN posted a note about their upcoming LIGHTS IN THE SKY tour on their website. Also, you can check out their live tour rehearsals - CLICK HERE!

'We are hard at work preparing for the upcoming tour. Lots of new surprises in store, and a stage that makes my head hurt thinking about it (kind of in a good way... kind of).'

'Anyway, our computer wizards presented some data to us in an interesting way and we thought we'd share it with you. CLICK HERE to download a Google Earth KML file representing downloads of our latest record The Slip according to geographic region. We've had just over 1,400,000 people download The Slip from our site since its release May 5th (that number represents individual people, and excludes multiple downloads from the same order), and this map displays ONLY downloads that came directly from us.'

'To open the file, make sure you have the Google Earth software installed first. If the KML doesn't open automatically, find the downloaded file on your hard drive and double-click it. Once it's open, you'll want to turn off other layers for the best view. Slower computers might have some trouble running this file.'

'P.S. - If you are one of the people from Fiji who got the record, can we crash on your couch'?

'The idea for this visualization originally came from some data sent to us by Topspin. These guys helped us out with our digital delivery for a while and are in my opinion the best option out there for artists to deliver their goods to their audience on their own terms. Keep an eye on them - they are leagues ahead of everyone else in terms of infrastructure and philosophy.'
