UK alt-pop sensation, MIKA, has just released his video for “We Are Golden,” the first single from his forthcoming album of the same name. The fun clip finds Mika singing and dancing in his bedroom along to his boombox dressed only in his underwear. The singer-songwriter calls the video a tribute to all the years Mika spent dancing around his bedroom as a teenager. “We Are Golden” was directed by Jonas Ã…kerlund who has also worked with the likes of Iggy Pop, Smashing Pumpkins, and Madonna among others.
We Are Golden, the album, was produced by Greg Wells (Rufus Wainwright, Pink) and recorded at Rocket Carousel Studios in Los Angeles, California. Mika’s first album, Life In Cartoon Motion, was released in 2007 and has gone on to sell over 5.6 million copies worldwide. The songs on We Are Golden have been described as dealing with Mika’s adolescent teenage years and "in a sense is kind of part two" of his first album.
Lykke Li hails from Sweden and is lucky enough to have Bjorn Yttling (of Peter Bjorn & John fame) as her mentor. She chronicled her life in song with tracks from her full length debut on Morning Becomes Eclectic this past Tuesday.

Last week I was the sickest I've been in such a long time with the Flu. I didn't do much of anything, which is really hard for me. The nice thing about it was that I was able to catch up on a lot of my tivo, and while doing so I came across this new talk show on MTV.
It's called IT'S ON WITH ALEXA CHUNG...and I think it's my new favorite talk show. She's personable and funny and cute in so many ways and not mention she has great guests. I'm not exactly sure what time the show airs, but if you get the chance (if you're home sick), check it out!
She has had a ton of great musical guests...The Duke Spirit, Passion Pit, Silversun Pickups and La Roux. Watch the performances, starting with La Roux now!
Months ago, I was doing my usual Thursday ritual, grabbing a LA Weekly and flipping to the music section, first thing. On one particular day, I noticed a full page ad announcing not only the reunion of No Doubt, but also their tour with whom they were performing with Paramore, and one of musicbleep's favorites', The Sounds! I was so excited! Instead of trekking my way through a stadium, to see one of MB's most loved artist's in such a large surrounding on a small stage that was not their own, I went with my "instinct", and waited for them to play a special show here, in Hollywood, and I was right. Approximately 800 adoring fans were lucky enough to snag a ticket for this show @ the famous Key Club in West Hollywood that sold out in less than 6 minutes! And to those that did not get a chance to witness this spectacle, I do apologize, but it was amazing! This was probably the 8th or 11th time that we have been able to be lively entertained by this fabulous quintuplet over the past 3 years, but this was undoubtedly one of their finest. They are a band that plays FOR THE AUDIENCE. They are so connected and feed off the energy in the room and vice versa. I love their gratitude and love for LA. Their 80's style, their punk rock feel, and their positive and beyond energetic presence. Their 3rd, and might I add, AMAZING full length album "Crossing the Rubicon" is magnificent and amazing with songs like "No One Sleeps When I'm Awake", "Dorchester Hotel" and my personal favorite (the best, by far off the album), "Beatbox". I cannot get enough of "Beatbox"!! Please do musicbleep a favor...go to www.myspace.com/thesounds and give them a listen, but do us an even better favor....hit up iTunes and get their latest album, as well as their debut, and sophomore discs as well. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! Story by Cory Radke Photos by Tony Crago and Cory Radke
Morning Becomes Eclectic continues to crank out amazing shows every morning. Just a week or so ago Noisettes stopped by and today KCRW welcomes Lykke Li. Tune in at 11:15 to listen! In the meantime, watch the performance from the Noisettes.
Kings of Leon performed three of their HIT songs off their HIT album, Only By The Night, on the Today show last Friday. I can't wait to see at the Forum in L.A. this month!!
The Sounds invaded the Los Angeles area last week. Not only did they have like 5 shows opening up for No Doubt, but they also found time to throw in a private show for some of their adoring fans...including musicbleep. We didnt get to catch em at any of their SOLD OUT No Doubt shows, but it's quite alright...their private show at the Key Club was even better.
We will have photos and review up shortly, but in the meantime check out some video of their kick as show at the Key Club. And if you want to check out a brand new interview they did with Buzznet, click below.
