Silversun Pickups stunned the world with their fuzz-laden debut album Carnavas in 2006. It's been a long wait for their newest release, but finally, Swoon has hit the shelves and has cemented the band's reputation. The band consists of neighborhood friends Brian Aubert (vocals), Nikki Monninger (bass), Joseph Lester (keyboards), and Christopher Guanlao (drums). After Carnavas became such a hit, the band went on an extended tour to support the album, but things weren't all rosy when they returned. Aubert says, "It was a dark time when we got back. We had to water the relationships that we had neglected over those two years, and I think this darkness came out on our new record." They rebuilt those relationships to create another successful record. "It can be lonely here, because the city is so disconnected," Aubert explains, "but here you can also escape the noise of the city into your own house, your own private place. But we're all connected by community."

Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Caccone form the comedic trio The Lonely Island. Known for their work on the classic hit show Saturday Night Live, the group has just released their debut album, Incredibad, now out on Universal Republic Records. The album contains the Internet and YouTube hit "D*** In A Box," along with other satirical musical and audio pieces featuring such notable artists as Natalie Portman, T-Pain, Norah Jones, and Jack Black.

The three have been friends for a long time. As Samberg says, "Since junior high and high school, and then we all eventually moved in together, starting out, basically, doing joke music. Our first projects were always about mixing music with comedy." The results ended up with them winning an Emmy award for Outstanding Music and Lyrics for "D*** In A Box." And the album promises more of the same. Samberg continues, "We never concern ourselves with what happens after. We're grateful for all the success. We jumped at this opportunity because music has always been a big part of what we do. In a way, this album is our thank you for all that great musical inspiration ... The mission statement of this album is to be funny - period! For us, the comedy always has to come first."

Fearless Records artists Every Avenue hail out of Marysville, Michigan, and have released three full-length albums and one EP. Their most recent effort is Shh. Just Go With It that came out in early 2008. The band consists of David Ryan Strauchman (vocals), Joshua Randall (guitar), Jimmie Deeghan (guitar), Matt Black (bass), and Michael Govaere (drums). Ask them about their "pump jump" that they perform at shows!

Tempe , Arizona band The Maine put out two earlier EPs before releasing their first full-length Can't Stop, Won't Stop on Fearless in February of 2008. Band members John O'Callaghan (vocals), Kennedy Brock (guitar), Jared Monaco (guitar), Garrett Nickelsen (bass), and Pat Kirch (drums), will be releasing a new EP called …And A Happy New Year on December 9.

Mayday Parade.

Fearless Records band Mayday Parade has put out one EP and the critically-acclaimed full-length A Lesson In Romantics, which was called "the best album to come out this year" on the MTV GirlsGonePunk blog. The band consists of Derek Sanders (vocals), Alex Garcia (guitar), Brooks Betts (guitar), Jeremy Lenzo (bass), and Jake Bundrick (drums).

Popular indie recording artists Ludo will play Halo® 3 with Xbox LIVE® members Friday, September 5, 2008.

PLAY HALO 3 AGAINST HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS

Hawthorne Heights is the August Artist of the Month for Xbox Live, and now you have a chance to play online with them with multiplayer combat in Halo® 3. As one of the first bands to utilize social networking to gain a fan base, Hawthorne Heights developed a huge MySpace following that became a catalyst that would launch them from underground heroes to international superstars.
